Every year in Russia the amount of industrial waste is growing, so last year alone their volume increased by 21.5% and reached a record 8.45 billion tons, 60% of which falls on the mining industry. Industrial waste pollutes water, soil, air, disrupts the eco-balance of wildlife, they occupy an area of 4 million hectares, and annually about 0.4 million hectares of land are allocated for their disposal, their total area is comparable to the territories of such states as the Netherlands (4.15 million hectares), Switzerland (4.12 million hectares)
We have developed and successfully put into practice a unique, unparalleled environmental technology for processing industrial waste in a closed cycle based on waste from Nornickel and other industrial enterprises with the production of high-quality scarce ferroalloys (ferronickel, monel, ferrosilicon, copper-nickel alloys and mattes)
The method of processing nickel waste is pyrometallurgy, reduction of metallic nickel, copper, etc. from the oxide form, the processing technology represents know-how, developed experimentally.
The innovativeness of the project lies in the fact that there is no such technology for processing metallurgical slags in the world. They are stored in tailing dumps and buried at industrial landfills, polluting the environment.
On the planet of estimated nickel reserves of 135 million tons, humanity processes 2 million tons of nickel per year, at this rate of processing, nickel reserves will run out in 67 years. In the coming years, nickel production schemes will be reoriented from primary to secondary. The reserves of secondary nickel in the form of dumps, waste, scrap, etc. significantly exceed the reserves of nickel ores. In Russia alone, the reserves of nickel dumps are several hundred million tons. For nickel plants, this is a headache and a serious cost, because they are obliged to eliminate these industrial landfills and pay huge environmental fees. For us, this is a valuable cheap raw material from which we extract nickel and other non-ferrous and precious metals. Our zero-waste closed-loop technology will allow you to completely extract nickel from dumps without damaging nature, which makes it really "Green." In addition, obtaining primary nickel is associated with high environmental costs and causes irreparable damage to the environment.
Our project was among the leaders at the All-Russian Forum "Strong Ideas for a New Time," held in Moscow and received a letter of recommendation from the leadership of Roscongress and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for implementation.
Minutes No. 3 of the Meeting of the Expert Commission of the Government of the Orenburg Region dated 10.08.2023 decided to organize state support for this project.
We launched a metallurgical plant in Beloretsk in the Republic of Bashkortostan for the processing of industrial waste, signed a long-term contract with PJSC Norilsk Nickel for the processing of their waste, and are planning to build a ferroalloy plant in the Special Economic Zone together with our Partners.
Our technology has a great future for the development of Russia's technological sovereignty and strengthening industrial potential through recycling of secondary raw materials, the reserves of which are of strategic importance, taking into account the global trend towards the depletion of valuable natural resources.
